Individual Therapy in Washington DC
I provide individual therapy for adults in Washington DC, both in person and online, who are navigating anxiety, ADHD, trauma, relationship concerns, LGBTQ+ identity and relationship issues, and major life transitions. I work extensively with LGBTQ+ adults and provide affirming therapy that explores identity, attachment, relationship patterns, and the psychological effects of minority stress. My work is collaborative and grounded, with a focus on understanding patterns, building emotional capacity, and supporting meaningful change that can last over time.
Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why familiar patterns keep repeating. Together, we work to better understand what is happening beneath the surface and to create space for new ways of relating to yourself and to others.
This May Be a Good Fit If You Are
You might find individual therapy helpful if you:
• Feel stuck in patterns that keep repeating despite insight or effort
• Struggle with anxiety, self doubt, or emotional overwhelm
• Are navigating ADHD and its impact on focus, relationships, or self esteem
• Are processing trauma or the lingering effects of past experiences
• Want support around LGBTQ+ identity, relationships, or minority stress
• Are going through a life transition and want space to reflect and recalibrate
• Want therapy that is thoughtful, collaborative, and emotionally attuned
Many people come in unsure exactly what they need, only knowing that something feels off or heavier than it used to. Part of our work is clarifying what is happening and what kind of support will be most useful.
How Individual Therapy Can Help
Individual therapy offers a space to slow things down, understand emotional patterns, and work through challenges that may feel overwhelming or entrenched. We focus on increasing self awareness, improving emotional regulation, and developing more flexible and compassionate ways of responding to yourself and to the people in your life.
Clients often seek individual therapy for concerns such as anxiety and depression, ADHD related difficulties, or the impact of past experiences and trauma. For some, individual therapy also serves as a foundation for deeper relational work, including group therapy or couples therapy.
My Approach to Individual Therapy
As a licensed psychologist in Washington DC, my approach to individual therapy is collaborative, thoughtful, and trauma informed. I draw from evidence based and depth oriented frameworks, including Internal Family Systems therapy and EMDR therapy, to help clients understand long standing patterns, strengthen emotional capacity, and move toward meaningful and sustainable change.
I work extensively with LGBTQ+ adults and offer LGBTQ+ affirming therapy that recognizes the impact of identity, minority stress, and relationship dynamics. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and challenged in ways that feel respectful, attuned, and useful.
